The owner makes her own accessories. I bought one ring!

Audrey Hepburn is my role model for life. The owner tried selling this to me but I don't have a place to hang it. Besides, it looks lovely at her shop.

Baiyoke Sky

I'm just a little creature...

Baiyoke Sky Tower is famous hotel for tourists in Thailand. It's the tallest structure in Bangkok and their top floors offer a really awesome view of the city. It also has a revolving observation deck at the top of the building which is really nauseating to visit after eating so I suggest to visit it first. Various kinds of dishes were served at their buffet. They have the usual Japanese, such as miso soup, sushi and sashimi too. But of course my favourite was their choices for desserts! I loved their tiramisu.

My relatives from Bangkok invited me for dinner before I go back to Japan the next morning. I'm really grateful for having them! I hope my whole family can visit them again soon...

Here's a haul of ◆Etude House◆ products from our recent trip to Seoul. (To refresh you about it: Click here.) To be honest I didn't really purchase this kit, I just found it inside our W77,000 shopping bag. Until now, I'm not sure if we have been deceived or this was given as a freebie. I don't really mind! These products worked wonders for my skin this winter! I have a combination type of skin during summer and now, it's dry due to the cold weather. Collagen had been recommended by every Korean I asked about beauty product but I never really believed until I finally tried.

So, I felt like it's my obligation to update my previous skin care post which was asked by a reader. For winter, I would totally recommend ◆Etude House◆ Moistfull Collagen Skin Care Kit. Proactiv and Clinique both gave me breakouts before clearing up my skin but this kit, don't. I would definitely stick to it for now and pile up for next winter! Just kidding! I actually bought a bottle of Facial Freshener before I left Seoul. It makes my skin baby soft but it doesn't remove acne marks... arg!

I cannot tell any information about ◆Etude House◆ MISSING U Hand Cream yet because it was just given to me earlier by Asami. So let's just focus about Precious Mineral BB cream and Nymph Aura volumer but all I want to say is I love it! What is BB cream? Once I started using it, I felt like I would never leave my house without it on again. I run out of Nivea sunscreen and this BB cream has SPF30. It would be the best choice to use it before going out definitely.

Revlon ColorStay was also given to me by my aunt that I just met from my last trip to Bangkok! I
complimented her good complexion and she recommended me this. I tried applying Maquillage by Shiseido primer underneath it this morning but they didn't mixed well. It's only SPF 6 so I prefer using ◆Etude House◆ BB cream first. Nevertheless, this product give me good coverage from day to night.

Lime Crime sent me three of their Carousel Lip Glosses. My favorite is the Candy Apple! I used it today, too. See photo below! I love glitters on my lips not on my hands! I'm really strange... For me it's better to apply Lime Crime Retrofuturist underneath, then Candy Apple.

My dress worn as a top is from storets that I redeemed thru chic rewards. I claimed a different dress but accidentally they've sent me this one. I am a very lucky girl, I got two dresses from storets now.

My best friend and I went to Bangkok for her birthday celebration! I was so happy to see her after a year of missing. I currently live in Japan and she lives in the Philippines. If long distance relationship is hard, long distance friendship is just as difficult.I had fun shopping at Bangkok and we’re planning to go back again soon! I didn't expect that my little money would go that far! Got to love Pratunam area.

Namsan Seoul Tower and Teddy Bear Museum

Guide to Namsan Seoul Tower and Teddy Bear Museum:

1. Take Subway Line 4.

2. Get off at Myeondong Station Exit 3.

3. Take the street near the convenient store.

4. Walk straight to the left of Pacific Hotel.

5. After 5-10 minutes of walking, take the stairway going up.

6. Turn right once you get to the top and you'll see this view (photo) above.

7. As you continue walking, you'll see cute cafes on your right like this one (photo) below.

8. There's a sign on your right for the cable car. Ticket booth is on the third floor.

As you've already noticed, I took the Namsan Cable Car going up as it gives you a different kind of excitement. Although going back, I chose to take the bus as it is more convenient if you want to go to another place such as Dongdaemun or Myeongdong for shopping and it is also much cheaper.

I believe that it's the best timing to go to N. Seoul Tower during winter. It looks really great with the trees' empty branches but of course, I don't have any doubts about Seoul's beauty during fall. I actually can't wait to go back!

Look! They're updated about "Tokyo Sky Tree." A must-visit! When I get back to Tokyo, I definitely should go. Tickets to the observatory and Teddy Bear Museum is worth W14, 000.

I was alone when I went there so no pictures of myself! Then, I found out that Seoul is a couple land. They have various tours for couples and tons and tons of ideas for dates that made me miss my boyfriend.

Next stop, Teddy Bear Museum. In reality... it's actually my first stop! I told you so! No one can deny their relationship with those partner outfits, ne?

Doota! at Dongdaemun. Before my flight to Seoul I was asking my friends who've been there where to go and Veren sent me a message suggesting Doota! mall. I really love it there! The clothes are definitely cute but a little bit more expensive.

Daphne

For the third time, happy birthday Daphne!!! You're so special that I have to greet you over and over and dedicate a blog post while you're sleeping! Hihi! Anyway, Daphne and I met back in uni. Our friendship started when noticed that we've been wearing the same colour of outfits for a week straight (more or less.) It's really funny!!! Since it's your birthday, I'll only talk about positive stuff. Hahaha! I kid!

Daphne Galvan is a Ford Super Model at fourteen. Galvan, not Galvin or Galvez! Although, she always forget that she is. She's that humble! She's an It Girl on the Web. Even though on her interview she stated that I'm one of her fashion inspirations along with her sister Naida Galvan, I'll definitely say it's the otherwise.

She showed me real friendship. We may have bad thesis days or a long distance friendship but I'm certain she would be my friend until the very end. If you have a friend that adopts you in her apartment, shops for your groceries when you have to go back to your country, buys cake for your boyfriend's birthday, calls you in the middle of the night, greets each and every part of your family happy birthday even before you do then tell me.

She's truly amazing and deserves a guy that would sacrifice everything for her. I wish you all the best in life and love!!! Plus more trips abroad together!

Moonstruck presents galleries of various artists at Hyatt Regency Osaka. I am just really lucky to be there when I visited my friend, Camille. I entered this solo exhibit by Hiromitsu Sakai upon going home and waiting for my shuttle. I am still in awe by his works! He must have a kind of mysterious floating and billowing mind.

Aside from the obvious perfection and symmetry of his art, the colours attracted me the most. As always! I am not an art master so I'll just let you see his art by yourself. But of course, I hope to see more works from Japanese artist soon as I'm also starting to make my own art thru photography and illustration.

Camille in Osaka

We had udon for lunch with various kinds of tempura (shrimp, squash and squid) near 大阪駅 Osaka Station.

Meet my long lost twin sister, Camille Dy! She was not like the last time I saw her (April 2011). I feel like were on the same boat, maturity wise. Maybe. Although at the same time, she was still like before, full of smiles and witty pranks. I met her back in uni (DLSU-M) and discovered that we have the same surname "DY", birthday "May 1, 1989" and of course university degree "AB-ISE". Weirdest thing ever!

We went to Namba but haven't decided where to go... Suddenly, we were on an adventure in a market. We both encourage everyone to visit a Japanese market. It's pretty neat and they have lots of interesting food and other products.

I asked Camille to try my favorite mochi flavor. It was so good!!!

Cafe Break. We decided to take a break, get some lattes after getting lost at Namba and spied girls in their kimono. It was their "Coming of Age" day. In Japan, the year you turn 21, you became an adult. You can legally drink liquor now! However these girls, like us, prefer coffee! Nice!

Arrived at Lucua 大阪 (Osaka). We got to see more people in their beautiful kimono! We were so envious that the next time Camille visits Japan, we planned to go to Kyoto and try wearing one as well. Crossing my fingers that, that would happen soon. By the way, Camille is a flight attend and is the only person from my university that I get to see here.

Everland and Korean Folk Village

Everland Winter Wonderland was our first destination. We were picked up in front of our hotel since we were on a group tour that day. It was very convenient since we're a big family. After an hour or so trip, we finally reached it. We have to take the shuttle bus first...

Winter Wonderland was a perfect theme since South Korea has the best winter season. Hello snow and cold weather! I actually prefer winter there than in Kansai, Japan.

We walked to the end of the theme park and found the safari. It was a great choice since everyone in our family agreed at once. It's my first time to see a bear. Rawr! I feel bad about putting them in a cage though. They were wild animals, they're meant to be freed.

Nutcracker Popup Aventure is one of Everland's highlighted news for winter.

Our next stop was supposedly sledding. We were excited about it however we weren't able to go since there were too many people!

It's me again! I'm wearing H&M sweater and gloves, from Seoul leggings, Forever 21 boots.

Our second stop was at Korean Folk Village. Our tourist guide said that after the war, everything in Seoul was destroyed so they have to rebuilt from scratch. They wanted to preserve the old Korean tradition by creating a village-like museum. It was very similar to Japanese old houses, too.

Roasted marrons were everywhere in South Korea. It's quintessential for the weather. My siblings and I were throwing snow at each other and bought some of these after. Honestly, I prefer boiled ones.

Everland

Everland, South Korea, is the place to be. I enjoyed taking photos at this Winter Wonderland but haven’t really taken any rides. It’s very similar to Disneyland, except, the rides were more “exciting.”

Seoul City Tour

Sweet. That's how I'll define our first day in Seoul. It is greatly similar to Tokyo in a lot of ways, but different too. Almost every sales associate that I encountered talk to me in Japanese. Sometimes, I reply "日本人じゃないよ！” (I'm not Japanese!) Then, they would start talking to me in Korean. After awhile, in English! It's really funny!

Fashion

Similar: Koreans are fashionable people as well. I actually find it more relatable than Japanese fashion/subculture. I loved their oversized coats!

Different: They are much, much more simpler than Japanese. Less layers, less makeup, and rubber shoes.

Customer Service

Similar: Self-service. When eating at fast foods in Seoul, you should be able to get your own water. Throw your own trash. It's very similar to Japanese culture, which I think is amazing!

Different: No one can ever beat Japanese customer service to the point that my parents and siblings thought that some Koreans are very rude.

Discipline

Different: On our first walk to the city, Seoul has given us a bad impression by defying the rules. No one follows the stop light, motorcycles driving inside the sidewalks, etc. When I was left I went to Doota! mall, it was amazing!!! Everything change when I entered their restroom, it's nasty!

Still, I want to go back to Seoul for three days every three months to go shopping and sightseeing. It's impressive how they have rebuilt just for a short span of time.

What Makes YOU Happy?

1. Family. I have the best siblings in the world. What more could I ask for? Thank you Coleen and China for being the loveliest girls ever! Thank you most especially to my mom for being there all the time. Until I don't feel I can sacrifice like my mom does, I will never be ready to be one. How she prioritize us is unbelievable. I love her!

2. True friends. Even though I find it hard to make friends, I'm thankful beyond words for having some! Being Daphne and Aldrin's friend is a joy. It isn't easy to be in a long distant relationship. It's as hard as being in a long distance friendship with these two. Daphne and I usually talk wherever we can. Thank God for Yahoo! Messenger, Facebook and Twitter. Meanwhile, Aldrin used to write me e-mails but was on hold for a long time. I miss them both and the rest of our university friends. I can't wait to be with Daphne again in Bangkok for her birthday!

Another friend that I'm really excited to see is Camille. She's like a long lost twin to me. Honestly, how on Earth could we possibly have the same birthdays and last names? I'll be seeing her this January in Osaka!!!

I'm also grateful for my new friends and colleagues especially D'vonne, Abhi, Kathy and Gabby.

3. Traveling. I just came back from my 8 days stay in Seoul, South Korea. It's one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. Half of it I spent with my family and half in solitude. I am really comfortable being alone. Sometimes, more than being with anyone. I will post more about it later. For now, just click here.

4. Adventures. I was invited to the first Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tokyo which was formerly called Japan Fashion Week. We all know that Japan is a fashion mecca. Just reminiscing about it leaves me speechless. Visit here for more.

5. Photography. Although I still need to learn about it's technical stuff, it's something I cannot... not do. It's part of my life, definitely.

6. Justin. He pushes me to be the best person I can be. I get really tired easily but every time I do, he's always there to remind me of what I deserve and of what I can be. He's a dream come true.

Thus, I'm looking forward for a bright 2012. Who says you can't have everything? The world is infinite. The possibilities are endless. Don't let your dreams be dreams. Plan, achieve it and set new goals. We might not have everything at once but little by little.. I'm sure, we can all achieve it. Thank you everyone!!! Have a wonderful year ahead!!!

Incheon

I took these photos when we were on the Airport Limousine bus from Incheon International Airport to Sookmyeung Women's University Station. It was around W14,000 one way. If you don't have much luggage, I highly suggest taking AREX (airport railway) from Incheon to Hongik University for W3,700. It's a lot cheaper! You can go directly to Seoul Station as well. I just don't know how much..

What I love about Korail: It is the best kept "secret" of Seoul. It's fast, affordable and convenient. You can visit one tourist spot to another by purchasing a multi-entry ticket or if not a single entry ticket is only sold for W1,500. Then, you can get a W500 refund as you return it.

What I don't like about Korail: The seats are not so comfortable. In Japan, those kind of seats are only for local and provincial trains. City trains must have bus like seats. But it's okay! You can never go anywhere here with just W1,500 anyway.. The farthest you can go is the next stop. My suggestion? Just walk or rent a bicycle!

Here I am on the bus with my Mickey/Minnie reversible pillow that I got from our last trip to Tokyo Disney Sea. I love it so much and I feel like I can never travel without it.

Ubiquitous Etude House

If Japan have ubiquitous vending machines, Korea must have Etude House everywhere. We haven't even seen all Myeongdong but I noticed that we passed three to four of it's branches. We entered the one in front of street food stand and encountered an expected experience. I got their popular BB cream, my sisters loved their nail polish collection and my brother was convinced to buy "Missing You" lip balms. Many people were in the store and our basket was literally filled with "goodies." I didn't realize that I've spent more or less W70,000 already!

And that was only on our first day! Today I've spent W25,000 for nail polish and skin care. I love their pastel coloured matte nail polish! So far, I got lavender and yellow. I might get teal and peach as well.

My favourite Etude House branch was the one located near Namyeong station. Only few people go there and they have lovely staff who can speak English. She's also very transparent about their promos and freebies. That way, you won't feel you've been ripped off. I'm not sure if there is a branch in Japan but I can attest how cheap it is to shop in Korea rather than in Japan. For their normal nail polish for example, it's only priced as W1,000. While in Japan, Daiso nail polish will probably costs W1,500 when converted.

Topshop sales associates are the loveliest! Once in a blue moon, I attend events like this! I noticed that Japanese are a little shy when it comes to such gathering, or maybe it's just in Osaka... However, I love the people here. They are so nice! It was such a good customer service experience.

I wanted to buy this dress! It was the last piece but it was already damaged. I felt bad that I didn't have a choice! I got the mustard knit cardigan anyway. I was thinking to produce clothes so I won't feel frustrated not getting the ones I like.

I was so happy to meet Nahoko of Black Hair Style for the first time. I learned so much from her. Now, I think I must be really lucky. Thank God!

Ugly Sweater

My mom and I went to this vintage shop near our place to check if they got sale items. When we got there, their promotion was already over. That didn’t stop me to get this ugly sweater. I bought it pre-winter, I didn’t like it at first because it’s too hot when I wore it. The garment was way too itchy!

Winter came, I tried it on again and it was… heaven sent! We went near the shore for my sister’s birthday. I only wore this sweater and another layer inside yet it was so comfortable! I love it! This is an entry to Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest by Chictopia.

Teal Glitter

Some lessons from others:

1. To prepare. When we are still kids, we have everything set for us. For adults, it’s always necessary to take control of everything beforehand. Make a checklist and if anything goes wrong, be responsible for your own actions.

2. To double check. I must admit I don’t double check at all but today I learned that it should be a lesson that have to be applied daily. Thanks to my sister Coleen! Starting from this post, I will make sure that I check everything I post online and make it a habit.

3. To be a good leader. It all starts from within, not without.

This could be simply a "what's in my bag" post, but what I really want to share with you is my traveling essentials. Few days ago a friend asked me on what to wear for her trip abroad, so I thought it would be a good topic for my blog. I only (twice or thrice a month) travel locally just to unwind so it's really flattering to be asked about it. Anyway here are my tips on what to bring when traveling:

1. Spacious, neutral coloured bag. Although I must admit that I am not a bag-person, I only have five bags! I'm very picky! I like them brown and classy. Most of my clothes, go well with brown thus, my choice for bags. I'm always traveling with my camera so I also need a durable one. Don't be fooled by a good-looking bag. It's like finding a friend, of course physical appearance matters but I need someone who will last long! Stay away from fakes!

2. Wallet with lots of compartments. I don't need a wallet with coin purse. I just want my money to fit well. As we all know (I hope!), yen's size is bigger than the usual dollar. You'll never want your yen folded badly. Japanese people is all about presentation. They will find it disrespectful if you pay them yen with crease. More compartments for cards and stuff. One more thing about Japan, they love "point cards."

3. Lip care. I got Nivea, unscented. If you're traveling whether it's summer or (especially) winter you have to bring lip moisturizer. I swear you don't want your lips flaking on your memorable photos! Don't forget to take your most trusted lip colours! I always have Lime Crime's retrofuturist and cosmopop inside my bag. Most of the time, I'm too lazy to fix myself however I need to look presentable. The solution? Sunnies and lipstick!

4. Hand care. Just because, I don't like my hands dirty, rough and dry. I definitely recommend Dress Glove from Majolica Majorca. It's effective on it's purpose to make your hands moisturized and it also smells good! I also have wet tissues, in case I need to wash my hands but I can't go to the bathroom or for emergency purposes.

6. Flip cam and camera accessories. My sisters got this Cisco Flip for a blogging project. I love it for being handy! I also have a Canon RC6 remote control. It does wonders for group photos that you don't want to miss out!

Turning attention away from myself…

Although I feel a little bit hesitant about sharing my cause, I decided to share it with you. I have a little brother who had been diagnosed with Asperger’s. At first, my whole family is in denial about it. We didn’t expect that it could happen to us! We kept on praying that he could be healed and until now, I never lose hope that he will be okay. He makes us all happy and he is the bond of our family. When everything seems falling apart, he grabs our hands and kiss us. He’s like an angel on Earth. That’s why I want to help other families that are experiencing the same thing. I rarely explain on my posts nowadays. I just love to express myself thru haiku or a mind-boggling paragraph. When I’m on writing I’m on my comfort zone. However in any circumstance that would oblige me to talk, I feel like I’m being thrown to the sea. Not knowing which kind of fish would want to eat you first!

Anyway, here’s a long overdue of my outfit post to my second year at (then) Japan Fashion Week and (now) Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo. It’s nerve wracking since I’m going alone. Ironically, I am not only afraid of talking but also being by myself. What’s the best solution to your fears? Face it.

Most of the time I am invisible from the real world or to the realm of blogging. I may not have the "standard" perfect skin, but I want to share with you my skincare routine upon request. I usually have "imperfections" on my chin and forehead from time to time. Anyway here are the products that I commonly use:

First Photo: Proactiv Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, Repairing Treatment & Clear Skin Night Lotion. The Renewing Cleanser is the only product I use daily. The Repairing Treatment stings sometimes. When I first used Proactiv, my skin had a breakout. Now, it's clearing up. For good, I hope!

Second Photo: Acnes (Japanese drugstore product), Clinique Clarifying Moisture Lotion 3, Nivea Face Sun Block Whitening Cream and The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-up Remover. Before I settled with Proactiv, I tried Acnes. I should have stick to it since it's really good on my skin. It can remove oiliness effectively. I am not that satisfied with this Clinique product that I've bought since I am not actually sure if it's the right number for my skin. I picked number 3. Nivea Sun Block is my favourite. I can never go out without it especially on a Japanese Summer! It's too hot and humide. My skin would suffer if I don't. I bought this from the Philippines, a long time ago! You can see the packing tape marks. And finally, I love The Body Shop Eye Make-up Remover! I use it all over my face because it's gentle! It is specially made for the eyes so it must be good for sensitive skin.

Among all of these products, the only thing I cannot live without is my Nivea Face Sun Block Whitening Cream! This is product I swear by. If you ask me, you should never leave your house without applying sun block! Actually even if I'll just stay at home the whole day, I would still put on a little amount of sun block. How about you? Fur Fur Autumn/ Winter 2011 Collection

I finally found a Fur Fur branch in Osaka! I feel like I'm Alice, when she first fell down on the rabbit hole. It was one of the most magical moment in my life! I cannot wait to go back there and shop next month. I can only spend a little since I'm saving for my Korea trip.

If you can see the photos from Fur Fur A/W 2011 collection, they have shirts with Tokyo, Beijing and New York printed on. I suppose they also promote seeing the world by your very own pair of eyes! This collection don't have much layers as they usually have, I'm not sure if the tragedy last March affected the styling but the pieces speaks for itself. Believe me, I just saw it! What's good with window shopping is that you can actually touch the clothes and know how it would feel when you wear them rather than looking at pictures. Now, this makes my post so scanty!

Hello! How is everyone?

This is my friend, Yuna. That sounds like a real basic introduction. Anyway, I met her when I was working as a visual mercahndiser for American Apparel Shinsaibashi. Before, she seeks for my advice when shopping. Now, she's the one touring me around! She's with me when I first went to Topshop Umeda. She showed me this lovely store called Flowers.Last time we met, we dropped by to Fur Fur and Cleopatra. I will definitely go back for those stores! You know how much I loved Fur Fur's latest collection. What you should know is Kiko Mizuhara is Cleopatra's model. It also have various brands under it's name, Cheap Monday for example.

I digress. Going back, I like Yuna because she's the type of person who smiles when she's happy and frowns when she's not. She's real, in short. Don't you think she has the loveliest smile?

Happy Halloween everyone!

I've noticed that every halloween, almost everybody tries their best to be creative and dress uniquely. For me, that is what we need to do everyday... So this halloween, I've decided to turn the glass hour upside down and do something really different from what I normally do. Go back to childhood! Well, sort of. I volunteered to facilitate a Halloween party for kids and I had the most awesome time seeing them having fun. People always look up to Japan fashion but these kids really made me adore them, for their simplicity and genuine smiles! Also, I didn't expect that they would give my mom and I (together with three other foreigners) gifts for hosting the event.

Anyway, this is what I wore. I will post more photos later...

Let this video, speak for itself. Since I followed Romwe on Facebook, I can see their updates quite often but after this post appeared.. I commented and posted the link for the PETA video about animal cruelty and when I checked it back, it was deleted. Sadly, I can't follow them anymore.

I wouldn't want any lives sacrificed for me to feel warm during the colder season.

What's more sad is that the post seems so ignorant for a growing company. Statements such as "I don't know what's the deal with real fur", "...DE-LI-CIOUS", etc. Supporting fur obviously equates to supporting animal cruelty. But, the lack of knowledge... Ahhh! You tell me! I'm definitely furious!!!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo: Backstage and behind the Scenes

As you might have read on my previous posts and tweets, I headed to Tokyo last Tuesday to attend day three of the (first ever) Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo previously called Japan Fashion Week. I regret being sick and not being able to attend motonari ono and fur fur last Monday.

To be really honest, those two shows are the most creative compared to all I've seen. Their collection are all covetable. I can't wait to buy them! G.V.G.V. is also good as well. I will do my critique on a different post.

When I received my invitations to the shows and a photographer's pass last two weeks ago I asked myself the obvious, "why me?" Months ago, I was just answering forms about my blog and listing my father and little sister as my blog photographers. I didn't even expect that I would get a reply or even envelopes (containing invitations, passes and ID straps) on my mailbox.

"Why not me?" would be a rhetorical question! So while everyone's enjoying the show and uploading their photos as fast as they could. I was there... taking photos at the backstage!

Today, I decided to wear my brother’s flannel shirt. It could easily be styled as grunge. However, it is very hard for me to adapt that kind of style for now. Despite the fact that this shirt is oversized, checkered and made out of a thick material, I still tried my best to make it look preppy.

This afternoon, there was a parade along our street. Their theme was also red and blue! I could certainly fit in! I was already dressed up when saw them but I still decided to make the title about them since my outfit was really a parade of RED!

SURPRISE! I’m into androgynous look for fall. Sometimes, I want to be like a boy. I don’t want to be trap in a man’s body however I look up to their character. They have this innate aggressive appeal that I admire. Looking like a boy is easy to achieve when dressing up but acting like one is hard. Especially when you are the exact opposite. But that’s just me! Forever a girl and I love it more that anything else.

Also, I just want to show you my new Zara pants! It’s skinny and forest green, just the way I wanted. It would be perfect if it’s high-waisted though!

Last weekend, my family and I went to the one and only Tokyo Disney Sea! It’s their 10th anniversary and there are too many people who came and celebrate! It was truly magical moment and I want to come back!

Polkadots on polkadots, the easiest print on print combination. Reminds me of how it rains before autumn, transition look for a weather in transition. If you’re cynical to get anything galaxie or python-printed garment this season, why don’t you stick to the basics… just like me! I’m dying to get a python leggings though, only if it’s for free!

If you read my last post, you probably know that Lime Crime sent me some of their products. Since people are asking about their products and my "new" look, I decided to make a short review about Cosmopop. And to answer the "mystery" about my pixie cut, the last photos shows clearly that it's tied at the back.

Colour: It's almost "nude" on my skin especially on this photo, but you can also see that it's leaning to a pigmented coral hue that makes it appropriate for any kind of season. This is my current favourite go-to shade, aside from Retrofuturist of course.

After effect/ Illusion: My mom said my lips look bigger probably because I didn't use a liner and the lipstick went over my real lips shape. She didn't like it but I do. I love it! It's like magic!

Quality: When I first tried it on my lips, it chapped a little maybe because my lips were dry. It can also easily cease just by drinking water, unlike Retrofuturist. For $16 a dollars a tube, it's totally worth it. I want to collect all Lime Crime products to be honest that's why I'm so happy when I received an e-mail from Erica that they will be sending me some of it try.

Packaging: It's box and tube are both cute! I also adore the after-opening "smell."

Three new lipsticks were added to my growing collection this morning! Special thanks to Erica of Lime Crime! I got "Oh no she didn't" and "Countessa Fluorescent" last year but unfortunately I lost the latter but Erica was too lovely to send it back to me again.. WE LOVE WOOL. Recently launched, Woolmark's 'Find Fashion by Feeling' lookbook invites users to post their favourite wool looks into one of twelve 'Feelings' categories. What an interesting project, right? That's why when I received an invitation from Molly, I immediately posted a look. View the look I submitted here. I am genuinely interested to join since first and foremost, I am a consumer of wool products.

Second, my initial reaction when I first viewed their website was WOAH! That's one brilliant idea to be able to post looks based on what you feel that day from 'natural' to 'nostalgic', they have various emotions to choose from. Besides, one of the best way to express ourselves is thru clothes. You can either state the obvious, or hide your feelings nonetheless. It's your choice!

And last, I support wool products to the point that when people wear awesome looking floppy hats, I feel obliged to ask them "Is it wool?"

I'm just staying at home today, so I decided to take some photos.. Yes, I love Clinique Happy. It was given to me by my uncle last February but as you can notice, the bottle is still almost full! The reason behind this? I am sensitive to perfume, cologne, insecticide, or just about anything with scent (pleasant or not.) That's why I am very picky when it comes to perfume even though I don't use it all the time. During the day, I prefer fruity, "barely there" scent. At night, it must be something sophisticated yet not too strong like my mom's Gucci perfume.

My colleague traveled to San Francisco and Taiwan last week and gave me an eco bag (which I used as a background for these photos,) jasmine & high mountain oolong tea, and pineapple cake. Isn't she the sweetest. I just love everything!!! First, I'm trying my best to be eco-friendly ever since. Second, I prefer tea over anything. Third, as much as giving gifts I love receiving them, too. Hahaha!!! Speaking of gifts, I received a package from asos again!!! That aside from those bangles, I haven't worn yet...

My belief is that “love transcends above all.” It wouldn’t matter if you’re a Muslim, Christian or Buddhist. As long as I love you and you love me, I’m yours. Still experimenting on Photoshop CS5... Anyhow, I found this vintage blouse from the top drawer of my closet that I don't usually open or even look at. It has an amazing patch work of a dog (perhaps) with different animal prints such as a zebra x dog, leopard x dog. Life would be more complex if things like these are possible. Sounds exciting to me!

I also treated my little sister to a buffet pizza "cafe" nearby. You have to order a set of pasta and/or drinks to avail it. Their pizza selection is mouth watering although I didn't liked their salmon gratin that much since I want my noodles well done not half cooked. I'm also not a fan of seaweeds in anything aside from onigiri. I would love to go back for their pizza though!

Mint, aquamarine, teal are my favorite shades of green. Pairing it with ivory coloured lace and an emerald necklace will give you a princess-y appeal. An elegant look that could definitely flatter various kinds of skin tones.

Last June (wow, time really flies fast!) ... My friend and I strolled around Shinsaibashi, Osaka. Our first stop was American Apparel since I want to see my previous staff as well. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos. I haven't seen major changes and they were featuring denims on their window. I was so happy to receive the back stock boys and sales associates warm welcome.

Anyway, my friend toured me around Orange Street which if I could remember correctly it was at the opposite direction of the main Shinsaibashi shopping street and Namba... It was my first time to go there and it was a joy to discover that place. I will definitely go back and visit this store that I really liked, "flower." Their one piece per style, macaron colours clothes and wonderful store layout attracted me! Once I'm fully decided to put up a store, it would definitely be inspired by it.

I stayed in Nishiwaki last night and I find it very relaxing! Sometimes it’s really stressful traveling far especially when going back home. I usually get a headache or stomachache whenever I feel really stressed but now, I already learned my lessons…

Here are some tips to avoid stress when traveling:

1. Eat, eat, eat. This is a very important reminder for everyone. Being a jet setter isn’t for the faint of heart. Eat up or you’ll be dizzy in no time. It would also help if you would bring snacks or meal (depending on your travel time.)

2. Breathe. Hold your breath for seconds and exhale. You’ll feel it’s immediate effects afterwards.

3. Do some exercises. When in the car or train, you can try some easy feet, hand and even neck exercises without bothering your seat mate.

4. Do something you love. If you love reading bring a book. If you love sleeping bring eye cover and don’t forget your neck pillow! If you love sight-seeing, why not capture everything with your handy camera? Hope these tips would help you on your next trip!

I was fortunate to be able to visit Nagoya for a few days last June however due to bad weather condition, I didn't go out of my apartment. That much. It has been recommended for us to try "salad pizza" at Piazza, so I did and took some photos on their lovely, cozy place. Even if that meant walking for a few minutes in the middle of a storm. However sitting alone right at the center of couples beginning to have a family was not the set up I expected, I still enjoyed the pizza flavoured alien to my taste buds.

The dream scenario: wandering around an unknown neighborhood, chiffon full length skirt billowing around me, happily hopping with bunnies as my new friends.

Ancestor Remembrance Day

If it’s a shock for you to see me in all black number, you’re not alone. I surprised everyone including my family and myself.. and maybe, if my friends see this they will be, too. I almost never wear black! Except for some events that I decided to attend as a black sheep rather a beautiful swan. Yes, I attended my prom thinking it was a halloween party dressed up in an old victorian black gown which made me look like either a goth or a vampire. I also wore a black gothic lolita inspired dress for my university graduation which was picked by my boyfriend and I.

I digress. In Japan, you are only supposed to wear all black to show respect for the dead. They call their ancestor remembrance day, “obon.” It is held every August for three days, which also explains why we have a long weekend break that started yesterday. Japanese people by this time are going or at their hometowns to give respect to their families’ graves.

I wasn’t able to attend either tanabata and hanabi parties this year (unfortunately) but that didn’t stop me from wearing yukata! Have you ever heard of tanabata or star festival in Japan? It is held every evening of the seventh of July! It’s a celebration for the two lovers that could only meet once a year based in an old Chinese story. Isn’t that romantic? It reminds me of someone I know. Anyway, my mom and my sister both attended the festival last month and they got to wear yukata! Jealous! There was also hanami (fireworks) festival that I missed! It made me reminisce last year’s… When we were able to join three hanami parties! However.. because of the tragedy last March, my city decided to postpone this year’s celebration.

I have to credit this post to my amazing sisters, China and Coleen! China took my photos and Coleen dressed me this yukata. This post would never be possible without them.

I rarely succumb to trends but somehow what I love wearing became mainstream. Style extends far beyond fashion and trends, I believe.

Socks and shoes (pumps, oxfords, boots, heels) are my favorite combination ever since. I can still remember how outrageous it is when I wore purple socks for our baccalaureate mass two years ago! However, what I can't resist is the idea of having gorgeous locks. My hair has been the most underrated part of my daily look. Although, I must admit a hair straightener is my weapon of choice for special occasions especially when I've got fringe back then! We went to Washuzan, a Brazilian amusement park in Okayama yesterday! It was really fun bonding with my sisters. Recently, I love wearing chic summer dresses or simply anything in mint, aquamarine colour. My sisters said that the colours that I wore blended well with the amusement park as a background. I told one person who greeted my outfit that I was inspired by cupcakes but the truth is, I didn’t prepare for this look at all. Yay for random beautiful things in my closet!

I slept really late yet woke up really early today for our trip to Okayama!!! Yay!!! In a bad mood at first because I smelled a really strong perfume scent but my mood brightened when I logged in to chictopia and saw Crystal’s comment on my last post: “I enjoy your looks a lot because of your minimalistic makeup. I do believe that you look complete without eyeliner, foundation, and lipstick! This is the complete natural package,” she stated. I would like to believe so, too! Usually, I love having make-up free face although lately, I fancy having a red lipstick on.

I posted a look yesterday wearing the exact same skirt. The only difference is this photo was taken last May! My Macbook got busted. I've also completely forgotten that I have more photos on my old memory card. Anyway, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and I wasn't able to take photos in the morning. Thus the search of old photos!Another similarity from yesterday's post: I am wearing my usamimi as a turban, once again. Are turbans still on trend? I don't know. Should I mind? No. I create my own trends.

How odd it is that they name that store "patisserie?" I am aware that my French have been pretty rusty, but not that rusty not to understand. Japanese business owners seem to be inspired by French language and culture but it's quite rare that they would get it correctly.

I adore these wonderful owl displays. They remind me of Hedwig!

Nautical, gypsy, rocker chic

I experimented a lot in this look: polka dotted usamimi turned turban, nautical wide striped top, gypsy belt, (good thing it matches my top) navy full length skirt and open toe buckled boots.I also have some arm candies: leather strap with three pieces of mini flowers attached to it, gypsy band, light blue ceramic watch and pink crystals.If a certain style could be interracial, this outfit would be 1/3 nautical, 1/3 gypsy and 1/3 rocker chic. Hahaha!!!

This salmon crop top that I wore today is one of my favorite items in my closet. I just can’t get enough of silk garments. Why?

1. First, it’s really comfortable.

2. The length and width are perfect for summer.

3. It is ever presentable without the hassle of ironing.

4. Last, it’s colour is salmon!This outfit is an odd mix of preppy, tribal and floral. I just love it!

I went to Yashiro today! It's beautiful during the day. However, it is really provincial. Imagine, walking for thirty minutes, relying on cars passing by for lights, and being thankful for two street lights that I found. I am usually up for any kind of adventure but that one frightened me. Anyone who "knows" me (perhaps) know that I have been always scared of turning blind or anything that will affect my senses. Forest Green might be a strange color for summer yet I love wearing it lately. You can pair it with a nude dress and look enchanting! Or, you can reinvent a maxi skirt to a dress, layer with a cardigan and look more sophisticated. (Pour finalement,) I can totally imagine this cardi with my red skirt and be inspired with a watermelon.

I have this quintessential red chiffon skirt for almost year now. Probably if we compute my cost per use for this skirt, I would definitely guarantee that it's a win-win situation. I did not even bought it since I got for my clothing allowance when I started working for American Apparel Osaka as a Visual Merchandiser. (Just to be clear, I am working for a different company now.)

Other ways to wear this skirt:

1. As a Potter Head: "... (referring to me) wore a school-girl outfit that made her feel like Harry Potter! She’s pretty brave with her awesome fashion choices, so we think she’d be a Gryffindor."

2. As a Tutti Frutti: Inspired by Prada, you can wear the same red chiffon skirt with a green top that could make you feel like a watermelon... or a strawberry! Which ever you want!

3. As a Walking American Flag: Ever since I saw El Carmen heels from Jeffrey Campbell, I can't help it but be inspired by different flags.

Where to go in Himeji

My sisters and I went down to Himeji last Monday to watch Harry Potter 7.2. We watched on 3D and I wore my white 3D flower mesh jumper. This would be my go-to look when I’m trying to dress down!

Himeji is 30 minutes away from our house via Sanyo Line. We don't usually go to Himeji since everything is on the wall of our home. Kidding aside, when I was younger we used to go there during weekends to visit the castle.

1. Himeji Castle is one of the most oldest castles in Japan so it's quite popular for both tourists and locals. Today, it's under renovation thus you cannot really see the beauty of it from the outside.

2. After "going to the castle," (my terms of taking pictures outside the castle) we used to go to the Zoo. It was so much fun since I am more attracted to wild animals rather than tame ones. I adore lions, tigers and bears for their intimidating appeal.

3. Recently, we've been going to Himeji to watch movies and shopping. Hands down to Japan government for being able to maintain traditional spots and improve lifestyle for their people at the same time.

4. And, our latest discovery: The Himeji Gardens. We've been visiting Himeji ever since I was twelve but it's my first time to see this serene place, not to mention photogenic.

Today, (if you follow my twitter, you would probably know that) I finally received my new macbook pro! Thus, I’m happy to announce that I’m officially back to blogging!

This is how you open a light-green-coloured-imaginary-can. I don't usually post informal photos in my blog, but these photos are funny looking to me. What was I doing, really? Anyway, it's scorching hot in Japan nowadays. I don't really like this humidity, I can't breathe. I nearly fainted yesterday! On a lighter note, now would be the best time to wear my lace blazer! Looking back to the history of this blazer, I'm happy that I kept it.

By the way, don't you just love lips in these photos? Unfortunately just a few months ago, I lost my favorite lipstick from Lime Crime, Countessa Fluorescent! I really wanted to buy a replacement but I was tempted to buy Retrofuturist instead. I am happy I tried it since I discovered mixing it with Oh No She Didn't will transform it to a lovely purple-ish shade.

Brown took over on my outfit’s color palette. I personally think that brown and white compliment my skin tone and body shape more than black can do. Another continuation post, forgive me, I didn't have the luxury of time before. I still have lots of photos from autumn and winter but I don't think that it would be timely to share it here. I noticed that almost everybody went to Boracay last Holy Week! It's ridiculous and awesome at the same time.

Tradition

As for me, it has been a tradition. I don't think that I will ever visit Philippines and not go there. My grandparents reside in Aklan and I love visiting them. In the airport, I always request for Yellow Cab pizza and Charlie Chan. For my ten days stay in Philippines, I was in Yellow Cab for at least once a day. If you stay in Japan for too long and a pizza lover, you will definitely try to eat as much pizza in another country. We even asked Yellow Cab Boracay to deliver pizza in our room. One time, it happened twice a day. It's crazy! I was with my relatives but I can definitely finish the whole box by myself.

First Time

On the other hand, it was my first time to wear bikini in public. I feel like I am a granny trapped in a young woman's body all the time. "Swimsuits are made for swimming", someone told me. Now, I'm convinced. Is it the power of words or of that someone? I am still a granny though, I prefer to drink tea than anything else. It's water to me. This one is caused by Japanese influence. I adore retro, vintage or dressing-up by era. I get along with my grandparents well, among many things.

Anyway, Jonah's fruit shake is a must if you go there. I am in love with Melon Mango! We went there during sunset and it was perfect! We arrived there Saturday night so all these photos are taken the day after. For three days, we were beach bums, literally. We were eating, walking, swimming and taking photos, just like what grannies do. We've also attended the mass. They were renovating the church that time and it looks great. What I didn't like was the priest talking about politics and personal tribulation. Separation of the church and state, please! Nonetheless, I really enjoyed that day, rolling on the sand.

Apparently, not all people know that I was raised by many mothers (my biological mom, my grandmothers in both sides, my aunts in both sides, among others) and I'm very grateful to each one of them. I honestly think that I'm the combination of all the good things about them. Hahaha! Thank you mama, nanay, tita, okasan, mere, mommy!

First, my mom taught me to be independent. She would rarely help me to do my home works when I was younger and allow me to do things on my own. At a young age, I know that happiness should not be relied on anyone else but yourself. She also gives me the best things like a trip to Tokyo, Bvlgari Omnia (I have the biggest craving for this perfume when I was younger and poorer), among other things.

Before I entered high school, we (my siblings and I) were left to my grandparents care. That's why I am closest to my grandparents on both sides. Both of my grandmothers are too sweet and caring. I love them. I will always remember how they would spoil us by cooking our favorite food and being free from household chores. I think everyone has this kind of stories where in their grandparents were too strict about their offsprings but lenient to their grandchildren.

My aunts also played a big role in my life being my confidants. I believe in them and they believe in me. When I have the biggest problems, I know I can turn to them, anytime. They are the ones who will lift your spirit when you are down. Also, they are my role models when it comes to finding "love."

For me, they are the best moms in the world. I love them so much and I would give up anything just to be with them. Don't you think your moms are, too? Happy mother's day to every mom out there.

It wasn't explained to me if OPA is an abbreviation of something or it's just simply OPA (tell me if you know) but I had been informed just recently that it's a department store marketed for teenage girls or ladies who love a more youthful fashion. Thus, Marc by Marc Jacobs welcomes you in the first floor. Other Japanese popular brands such as Mercury Duo (advertised by Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast), Murua (have you noticed Carolina Engman on their billboard?) and Ingni (my favorite) could be found at OPA.

I visited OPA in Shinsaibashi, Osaka with my friend but we also have it here in Kobe. I snagged my latest favorite satchel at Retro Girl located at the basement. By the way, Carolina Engman is everywhere in Japan. I am always seeing her in ViVi recently, too. Isn't she gorgeous? I love her huge billboard! I really need to get a red lipstick soon!

Lastly, "thank you for not somoking" from OPA. Cute!

What I did on my birthday

I practice on how to put make-up on and curl my hair. I didn’t know at first how much effort gyaru girls gave for their looks until this morning. I realize that they are really high maintenance. There should be no lazy days for them! I was inspired by Kate Middleton’s courage to paint her face on her own wedding day so I decided to practice and try it on my birthday! I will post “beauty shots” on my blog.

Since I belong to a big family, much time is wasted on waiting for the others to prep up. We had a lunch buffet. I always prefer a simple celebration. My dream birthday would still be in an orphanage and making other people happy. I hope to fulfill it on my next birthday.

Tomorrow Land

Remembering last year, fulfilling tomorrow land. I'm the kind of person who likes to think and over-analyze. My birthday would not be an exception to that. Last year, I had a pre-birthday celebration in Tokyo. One of my dreams came true, thanks to my loving mom! I felt like I was on top of the world but I am.. on the top of Tokyo Tower at least. We toured Tsukiji, Tokyo tower, Shibuya, Harajuku, Meiji jingu, Shinjuku, Asakusa, Kokyo and Ginza all in one day. Months after that, I got to work for an American brand that sent me to Tokyo (again) after two weeks of working. It was for a business trip but my heart was filled with the same joy as my first time. A trip to Tokyo is incommodious as it is one of the most expensive places in Japan, it's like going to Manila from Osaka or much more.

Yes, dreams to come true! However, I realize how important it is to stay true to yourself. I discovered how much I love living in Kobe. Having the best of both worlds, nature and shopping! Although, Japan might have tried to save "nature" in Tokyo. Hello, Meiji Jingu in the middle of the city! I still prefer Kansai (Kobe, Osaka) & Kyoto. I believe in dualism, balance and equality. I might have the chance to live in Tokyo in the future but my heart will always stay in Kobe.
